How to use Al-generated content in a responsible way
Atlas Copco Group is recognizing the potential of Al tools to enhance creativity and speed. Any use of AI-generated content must be done in a transparent and responsible way and in accordance with Group values, Code of Conduct, business ethics and tone of voice. Al tools must never be used to deceive internal or external stakeholders. Only Al tools and platforms that are Group approved may be used for company-related work. If uncertain check in The Way We Do Things.
AI-generated images
Al-generated images are used to convey a sense of technology that transforms the future. These images could be patterns, landscapes or environments. Each Al-generated image must be thoroughly reviewed and selected by a responsible communications professional.
AI-generated images : Commercial use
Before using any Al-generated assets commercially, you must verify that the output is licensed for commercial use. Only use company-approved Al generation tools. Additionally, ensure that your prompt always includes a reference never to make use of any copyright-protected material.
AI-generated images of people
The general rule is that AI-generated people images should not be used, unless used for very specific reasons that are approved by Group Communications. Al-generated people images misrepresent authenticity and may unintentionally reinforce stereotypes or biases. This includes portraits, images of people in action, and deepfake-style content. AI-generated people in tools, such as AI generated presenters can be used if it is clearly indicated in the immediate context that the “person” is AI generated.
AI-generated text and translations
The use of Al-generated content and translations is permitted, provided that an approved Al tool (by Group IT) is used. Al-generated texts and translations must align with our Group tone of voice and messaging. All Al-generated texts and translations must also be reviewed and approved by a communications professional before being published or used externally. This includes checks for tone, accuracy, legal risks, brand consistency, and factual correctness.
AI-generated voiceovers
The use of Al-generated voiceovers to facilitate better understanding and experience of translated content is allowed, provided that an approved Al tool (by Group IT) is used. It should also be stated and be made clear in the context that AI-voiceovers and lip synch is used.
Ethical guidelines
Transparency and ethical considerations
When applicable, clearly disclose when content has been generated or assisted by Al. Do not use Al to imitate specific individuals' voices, writing styles, or identities without their explicit consent.
Be mindful of potential bias or misinformation in Al-generated outputs and ensure all content is thoroughly fact-checked before publication.
Confidential or sensitive information
Never input, share, or reference internal, confidential, or proprietary information-such as business strategies, customer data, product details, financial information unless the Al tools used are secure and Group approved. See the Way for more information.
Al systems may retain or learn from input data. Disclosing sensitive information puts the company at risk of data breaches or IP leakage.
